About Berkeley Hillel

Berkeley Hillel is proud to be celebrating our 75 th year as the Jewish student center for the UC Berkeley campus.  While a decade ago Hillel primarily served as the campus synagogue, we are now a synagogue, community center, place for Jewish learning, Israel advocacy training ground, and much much more.

Hillel is a place for students to put down their heavy bags after a long day and philter through the refrigerator.  It is a place where students connect with their Jewish peers through social action projects in the community, Jewish learning, Israel advocacy, or simply by chowing down on burgers at the Wednesday night BBQ. It is a place where students expand their understanding of Judaism and question what it is and what it means to them. We have a committed staff of 10 who students come to know and love.
